With the end of another NFL season and Super Bowl 58's arrival, it's time for those who cover the league to hand out major individual NFL awards. For Sporting News, that means revealing our prestigious pro football honors. The long-standing proce s was the same for 2023, as all the worthy recipients were determined by peer voting from around the league and not SN staff opinion. For  Chris Paul Jersey Offensive Player of the Year,Defensive Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year, the winners were selected by fellow players. Only head coaches were allowed to vote for Coordinatorof the Year and Coach of the Year.Only front-office staff and personnel decision-makers were allowed to vote for Executive of the Year. In every case, players, coaches, and executives were advised not to pick anyone from their own team. Ballots were sent out electronically around the league, with a majority of teams voting before the early-January deadline.Beloware those results  some of which might raise a few eyebrows. MORE AWARDS:   (SN illustration) Offensive Player of the Year: Tyreek Hill, WR, Dolphins 2023 stats: 119 receptions on 171 targets for 1,799 receiving yards and 13 TDs Hill didn't fulfill his prophecy to become the first wide receiver to eclipse 2,000 yards in a season, but he still ended up leading the NFL in yards and touchdowns. Hill fell only a little short of the receiving triple crown that Cooper Kupp won in 2021, as the Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb (135) led the league in catches. Hill's impact on the Dolphins' offense as Tua Tagovailoa's go-to guy put him in the league MVP conversation for a while. He ended up edging 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who led the league in scrimmage yards (2,023 in 2023) and scrimmage TDs (21). MORE:   (SN illustration) Defensive Player of the Year: Myles Garrett, EDGE Browns 2023 stats: 14 sacks, 42 total tackles, 30 QB hits, 4 forced fumbles, 3 pa ses defended Garrett has been AP first-team All-Pro for three of the past four seasons, posting 16 sacks in each of the two seasons prior to 2023. He was simply overdue to take home this award vs. other edge pa s rushers, as he succeeded the 2022 winner, 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. Beyond wreaking more consistent havoc on the pa s rush, Garrett remained a dominant run-stopper at the forefront of a downright nasty Browns defense. Garrett needed just a few years to fully live up to his elite promise as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft. Now he's finally become recognized as the best, most venerable defender by his peers.  (The Sporting News Illustration) Comeback Player of the Year: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins Key stats: 17 starts, 4,624 pa sing yards, 29 TDs, 14 INTs, 69.3 completion percentage, 8.3 yards per attempt, 101.1 pa ser rating, 60.8 QBR Comeback player of the year can be defined in many ways. Baker Mayfield didn't get enough votes  Abdel Nader Jersey to follow Geno Smith's comeback honors from 2022 while operating with the same key offensive coach, Dave Canales. Joe Flacco didn't play long enough in his return as the Browns' starting QB. Then there's Damar Hamlin, who came back to play after suffering a life-threatening medical episode late last season vs. the Bengals. But the voters didn't see Hamlin on the field enough to pick him after his inspirational return. Tagovailoa battled through plenty of injury adversity himself in 2022, suffering multiple head injuries that put Luguentz Dort Jersey  his young career at a cro sroads. After training in the offseason and learning how to better fall, he played a full season without getting hurt, protecting his body better with quicker pa ses and ending up as the pa sing yardage champion. Tagovailoa played in 13 games in 2022, but there's no doubt he was battered and worked through pain. In his second year under Mike McDaniel, he maintained his proficiency and efficiency over a full season. MORE:  (The Sporting News Illustration) Rookie of the Year: Puka Nacua, WR, Rams Key stats: 105 receptions on 160 targets, 1,486 receiving yards, 6 receiving TDs, 14.2 yards per catch Nacua, aside from the scoring, had the best rookie season of any wide receiver in history. Although C.J. Stroud led the Texans to the playoffs playing well as a rookie QB, Nacua will go down with records for catches and yards. He looked like a steal of a fifth-round draft pick when he immediately took off in training camp, earning a supersub role in the preseason behind Cooper Kupp. Nacua then lit it up lining up all over the field on Kupp's routes when the veteran was injured early. When Kupp returned. Nacua remained dominant with his size, strength, hands, and downfield speed and quickne s. At 6-2, 205 pounds, Nacua looked every bit like a cla sic No. 1 WR, which is key for the Rams  Nerlens Noel Jersey with Kupp nearing the end of his career. Nacua also took full advantage of having strong-armed Matthew Stafford as his QB, much like Hall-of-Famer Calvin Johnson did as a youngster in Detroit. MORE:  (SN illustration) Coordinator of the Year: Mike Macdonald, DC, Ravens Macdonald beat out plenty of other worthy candidates, led by Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and the Ravens' own offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Under his two-year watch, transitioning from one Harbaugh in Michigan to another Harbaugh in Baltimore in 2022, the Ravens have gone back to being the league's elite pa s-rushing defense. They led the NFL with 60 sacks, doing it with a combination of inside and outside, mostly via committee. The Ravens ripped into some of the better offenses in the league, including the Dolphins, 49ers, Lions, and Texans. Macdonald did well to be versatile with personnel, using the all-around star power of safety Kyle Hamilton to provide different back-seven looks. Macdonald, at only 36, proved to be a top game-planner for the most dangerous pa sing games.  (SN illustration) Coach of the Year: Dan Campbell, Lions Campbell, still only 47, has gone from former player turned coach to an inspirational, motivational master. He relates well to his players and has instilled some mental toughne s and aggre sivene s, drawing from his own key playing experience. Campbell got a lot of respect outside of Detroit in a year when Kevin Stefanski, DeMeco Ryans, Sean McVay, Matt LaFleur, Todd Bowles, Mike Tomlin, Shane Steichen, and John Harbaugh all had strong cases. The controversy over some conference championship game decisions aside, Campbell pushed all the right buttons to take the Lions from a sneaky NFC North favorite all the way to the brink of the Super Bowl. The team didn't end a couple of 30-plus-year droughts by accident. It required great overall on-field leadership, and Campbell rocked his job. MORE:   (SN illustration) Executive of the Year: Brad Holmes, GM, Lions Holmes, with some ma sive draft capital and spending power under the salary cap, was the cla sic quick-turnaround architect in Detroit. He's been building a good foundation since taking the general manager position after coming over from the Rams' college scouting department. He put things in motion by making the Matthew Stafford-Jared Goff trade with the Rams, and the 2023 offseason was the crowning achievement. First, in free agency, Holmes added some needed defensive help in the secondary and signed former Bears running back David Montgomery, but his coup de grace was the 2023 draft. After landing edge rusher Aiden Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams in the '22 first round. Holmes outdid that by taking, in order, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, linebacker Jack Campbell, defensive back Brian Branch, and tight end Sam LaPorta all in the same cla s. More of his previous draft picks for the Lions include  Deonte Burton Jersey wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, right tackle Penei Sewell, defensive end Josh Paschal, defensive tackle Alim McNeill, linebacker Derrick Barnes, and safeties Ifeatu Melifonwu and Kerby Joseph. That's quite a haul of starters and key subpackage players. Holmes went from rebuilding to reloading in a hurry. That's not too bad for a former Enterprise Rent-A-Car employee turned public relations intern turned long-time winning scout.
